Construction of a solar wall at the Chambly factory
During construction of the factory, Sorinco Inc. invested in the creation and the erection of a solar wall to:
- Improve air quality.
- Create energy to replace natural gas.
- Eliminate negative pressure inside the building.
- Lower heating cost.
The wall is composed of a solar collector installed on the sunniest external wall of the building coupled with an air delivery system to provide ventilation within the building. Heat is recovered between the existing wall and the solar wall, and the air is pumped into the factory and redistributed by strategically placed disengagers.
